Good news! Hostel for Northeast students soon in JNU
Soon, students from the northeast region of India may get a hostel of their own at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent charge) Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER), announced that a hostel will be built for students from the northeast at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). “Rs 11 crore has been released for the project,” he said.
The four-storied hostel complex will be built on a land of approximately 1.5 acre, and will be completed within the next two years. It will have 224 rooms to accommodate 424 students and 24 rooms will be assigned to specially-abled students. Boys and girls will be allotted equal number of rooms.
